De Up Close & Personal Tour diende als voorproefje op de Never Gone Tour, waarmee de Backstreet Boys hun grote comeback gingen maken. Ze zongen alle nummers van het compilatiealbum The Hits – Chapter One en vijf liedjes van hun nieuwe album Never Gone. De set list van deze tour was, op kleine wijzigingen na, hetzelfde als die van de Never Gone Tour.
